Been hard at it over the last fortnight. First a life
drawing session, resulting in another random drawing of Marina to add to the
series. Decided to do fewer overlays this time and make it less crowded –
“Marina 4”
Then in to the studio to do some work on three paintings,
decided to try five layers.
The two rather scary life drawings from my previous session
started off with three fairly random layers of colour, then a layer of darks
followed by the final resolution -
“Brooke 3 - Flight”
“Marina 3 - Giaconda”
Then I tried a similar technique with one of my landscapes
from Cunningham’s Gap, First using 2 layers of random blocky colour –
Followed by a layer of 'realism' –
A layer of contrast –
Followed by the final resolution –
“Ramparts”
Had a lot of fun with these three, but it really stretched
my rusty old brain and body.
